Robert's Story
Robert is from Honolulu, Hawaii. He is married with Momolynn Shem Hong. His schools include Farrington High School. He works(ed) at Retired.Two weeks after graduration I was in the Army taking Basic at Schofield Barracks and went to Service School in Texas. This was with the National Guard. In Feb of 1960, I joined the regular Army, went to school in Georgia (Ft. Gordon) and went to my outfit in a place called Ft. Huachuca, Arizona. My outfit then went from Arizona to Darmstadt, Germany during the Berlin Crisis and I believe the outfit is still there. Got out in Feb of '63, which means I just got out before things got hot in Viet Nam. Knew a lot of G.I.s who didn't make it. Worked at the yard (Pearl) for four years. n Kwajalein and other islands of the Marshalls when I wasn't working on Kwaj. I retired in 2010 and now live in ENID, Oklahoma. Being married three times. The forty years I spent in the Marshalls I met two, only two people in our class, they were Mervin Matsukado and Elaine (Takei ) Lum.
I do want to say to many of my former classmates a lot of water has passed under the Bridge since 1959, so please forgive me if I don"t remember you all and vice versa.. One guy or two I can of remember by name but other than that I am truly lost. Kenwell Burns, who can ever forget a terrific name as that. Andrew Ah Po I still can see you singing a Carol in a Christmas Play at Kalakaua. Enough talk story for now....Rest of us hang in there..
