Robert's Story
Raised in the thriving metropolis of Blackfoot, went to Central, Southgate, and Center Elementary, Blackfoot Jr. High and of course Blackfoot High. Graduated Ricks College with an Assoc. Elect. Engr. Tech. In the middle of College I spent 2 years in Cumorah NY. After only being there couple of weeks I was asked to be in charge of all of the lighting at the Hill Cumorah Pageant and did the same the following year living "on the back side" of the Hill for the hottest 3 months of my life. Married Debra Erickson in '75 from Snake River and then went to Utah State U. and got my Elect. Engr. degree with Post graduate work at Univ. of Colorado at Colo. Spgs. I went into the Semiconductor Ind. and was able to retire early. I worked at AMI (Pocatello, ID), NCR (Colo. la / Freescale (Austin, TX),. Along the way, we had 5 kids, all boys except 4. As all parents wish, all our kids have "done better than us" all of them doing well in HS and a 4 year college degree. Oh how I wish I had some of there smarts going through school!
I have served in many callings in the LDS Church. Leadership to teaching small kids. One of my last and fun calling was running and taking care of all of the electronics in our stake and bringing them into the twentieth century. Actually, I did this in a couple of different cities. My hobbies of music, electronics, woodworking, metal working, auto repair (a necessity with 5 kids driving) and putting all these and more talents to use with home building and repairs. Yes, I love collecting and using good tools!
However, our 12 grand kids, across the country, take top priority.
