Robert's Story
Spent 3 years serving in the U.S. Army in Texas and Colorado - Met a girl from Dallas when in Texas and that was the end of the story (everything but Dallas is too far from Dallas). Went to school after Army and became an Engineer. I served the City of Dallas Water Utility Department for 25 years becoming the Director of the Department before I retired. Worked for a large water consulting firm for 4 years after retiring and then had a chance to start a new firm with a friend. We are McManus & Johnson Consulting Engineers, LLC in Texas and began in May 2013. We now have a total of 7 persons including ourselves and perform civil engineering services for cities and water districts. I have been married to my wonderful wife Cathy for 39 years as of April 2015. We have one daughter who is a teacher and 2 grandsons that are the joy of our lives. We have lived in Texas since I separated from the Army in 1977.
Things we enjoy are golf (just me), watching our grandchildren play games, travel, special events, and relaxing at home. Some activities we have enjoyed:

- 2 Trips to Australia (part of my duties with WateReuse) where we snorkeled on the Great Barrier Reef and held a Koala Bear

- Attending Musicals - Visited New York multiple occasions & Dallas Musicals
- Multiple trips to Disney World in Florida and a trip to Disneyland in CA with entire family
- My trip to the Masters Golf Tournament in 2011
- My trip to the U.S. Open (golf) at Pebble Beach in 2010 (Served as a volunteer for the tournament)
- Selected Concerts and Shows including the Eagles in 2014 and the 50th Annual CMA Awards Show in 2015
- Visited E Ecuador (WateReuse Conference) in 2015, Seattle (WateReuse Conference), Alaska Cruise
- Dominican Republic in 2016 - Enjoyed time at beach
- Williamsburg, VA in 2016 - Recommend it as a great American History vacation
Cathy and I are both pretty healthy and doing well for a couple of people that are getting older. We are looking forward to retirement (someday).
