Oh my what a crazy life I’ve had.
Now I’ve retired I have the immense pleasure of moving back up near Berryessa on Monticello Rd near where I spent my early life learning how to drive on the loop. (If you don’t know that reference you weren’t there.)
Oh yeah I’m also a disabled Vet. Who would ever think that of me, the pacifist and hippy peace protestor!
My collection of writings, materials and ephemera were acquired by the Schlesinger Library at Harvard with some bits at the libraries of Yale, Cornell and UC Santa Barbara.
Board President and co-founder of The Center for Sex and Culture, Dr. Lawrence has 38 years of experience in the field of sex education. They hold a Doctorate of Education in Human Sexuality and an additional Doctorate in Chiropractic. Has served as a writing and movie consultant, educator and academic author and lectures both nationally and internationally about human sexuality and health. Over the past decades lectured at many colleges and universities, including San Francisco State, Stanford University, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, Sonoma State University, the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality, and the University of Chicago. Their lectures have taken them to places as far flung as Canada, Mexico, Amsterdam, London, Beijing, Italy, Croatia, Greece and France. e 1980. In San Francisco as an LGBTQIIAP+ activist they worked with COYOTE, The Coalition for Healthy Sex and San Francisco Sex Information (SFSI). As an ex-Associate Fellow at the American Academy of Clinical Sexology, an occasional member of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and the former West Coast Chapter Secretary for the Society for the Scientific Study of Sex (SSSS). Their professional work has been published in juried journals, magazines and textbooks. He has been interviewed in books, online and radio and television programs worldwide, including Donahue, Penn and Teller, Montel Williams, Playboy TV and Channel 4 of London and a brief vitriolic mention from Rush. Most recently he appeared in the 2013 documentary "Unhung Hero" His practical methods of teaching safer sex, applied sex education praxis and sexual anatomy have reached millions of people worldwide and are in use today at educational events and programs across the nation. Currently writing a book on the teachings of sexual anatomy and the neurology of pleasure as it applies to sex education their lifetime of notes are being collated into an organized form for professional sex educators. His most recent public lecture on sexual neurology and physiology was at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco in June of 2013. They currently live in San Francisco and Napa with life partners Carol Queen, PhD, and three feral cats.
