So.....from the beginning.....it's 1958, seventh grade for me, and my parents can't decide whether they want to live in N.Y. or Fla. I attended four different schools that year. Starting in a new school in the middle of the term was always interesting. The girls flock around to meet the cute new kid (thats ...Expand for more
me, cute) and the boys just want to kick your butt. One crazy redneck school in Ft. Lauderdale even had a "de-pancing ceremony". The boys escorted you to the lavatory, removed your pants, then brought them back to the classroom for all to see......whatever!
My first day at Hauppauge (grades 7th through 12th were all in one building at that time) set the tone for me for the next six years. I'm like 12 years old, yeah, it's the middle of the term (what else is new?) and I'm walking into the
building for the very first time, and "whoa baby" this is what I see...............TO BE CONTINUED!
