Robert's Story
Greetings from Nurnberg, Germany. I¿ll have to make a long story short. I retired from the Army in 1987, and moved to Sierra Vista, Arizona. My tours of duty were in Vietnam, Berlin, Karlsruhe (Germany), Ft. Huachuca (Arizona), and Ft. Hood (Texas). I was divorced in 1991, and have two sons from that marriage. After retiring from the Army, I worked for a government contractor, and was sent to Nurnberg to oversee a German company who was developing a piece of equipment for the US Army. I met my second wife here, and since she doesn¿t speak English, I moved here instead of her moving to the States. I had a basic knowledge of the German language having been stationed here 6 years of my 20 year Army career, so picking up the language again wasn¿t too bad. ...Expand for more
I was in the German work force for 10 years, working mostly as a warehouse worker. I¿m now retired from the German workforce. My time now is spent going to a fitness studio 3 times a week, and playing an occasional round of golf as weather permits. Germany is relatively flat, so I spend a lot of time bike riding. It¿s a great way to see the German countryside. Nurnberg and the surrounding area offers many things to do and see, so boredom is not a problem at all over here. As you can imagine, Europe offers some fantastic vacation destinations, so we¿re discovering new European spots every year.
