Life
Hey everybody---I was checking out classmates.com in preparation for our 25th reunion--looking forward to seeing everyone. Well--what have I been up to? Many of you know that I was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest after 8 years of studies at our Seminary for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Since ordination, I have ministered as a parish priest (6 years), a high school teacher (six years) and since 2002 I am a proud employee of the great Commonwealth of PA serving as the Catholic Chaplain at Graterford State Prison. I live at a parish in Pottstown and own my own home in Earl Township in Berks County.
College
Well my college days were not as exciting as yours. I was in a Seminary--for the first three months I was not allowed off campus!!!! I did 8 years there--one bachelors degree and then two Masters. In 1995, I started work...Expand for more
ing on my doctorate (a shared program with a small Catholic college in Indiana and Christ's Church College, Oxford.) I received my doctorate in 1998. The Oxford Program was so awesome--the college I studied at in Oxford was had a huge formal dining hall which was the model for the dining Hall at Hogwarts (Harry Potter's School) Also--William Penn was kicked out of Christ's Church--so that was a cool connection to growing up in PA.
Workplace
I currently minister at SCI-Graterford--a maximum security prison outside of Collegeville. We house about 3500 inmates and contain one of 2 "Death Rows" for male inmates awaiting execution. It is CRAZY every day. It is also the toughest job you will ever love. I have gotten a ton of training from the PA Dept. of Corrections and currently serve as a certified hostage negotiator for the Commonwealth.
