Robert's Story

Well let's see...class of '62 BHS, class of "67 OSU, married Susan Foliano '65, taught art ten years in Cleveland, remarried '77, tool and die work for seven years, went to England, moved to San Jose CA '86, remarried (third time charm), drove county bus 18 years, retired 2005, moved to Mansfield,2009. I'm finally finding time to redevelope my art abilities. Our new house is a source of sweet pain. My wife, Shirlene, is a chef and I get to be her "kitchen b***h" when she caters stuff. I use to read several novels a week but since retirement they bore me. Now I enjoy nonfiction material. I have a son and daughter. Shirlene has two sons. We are fortunate in our blended family's atitudes towards us and each other. Six grandchildren with one more coming after my daughter remarries. After twentytwo years in CA I can only say that the weather here sucks worse than it did when I was a kid! Anyway, got into this to see if I could locate some HS buddies; Lee Farris, Ed Heymen, and Bob Czuckowitz but it has been nice to here from people I had forgotten about. I googled Don Chatham and found he is also amoung the living. I always wanted to be a actor w...Expand for more
hen I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were almost right. I enjoy making sawdust (woodworking), fixing up the house (built patio deck, storage shed, furniture, new roof) and in my spare time I've discovered the true meaning of life. .Isaac Newton was the coolest dude ever; if he would have had access to computers he would have found the answer to time travel. But we do thank him for those cookies filled with figs. Sports? A bunch of multimillionaires who dress up funny, run around, bump into each other and throw things. Reality TV is an oxymoron. Nannette Boyd, Wayne Mulheim, Cornelius Carroll were life changers for me. Life doesn't get any better...if it did I would have to be two people. My current age is 69. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be very dead. I was so completely wrong. My mother died at 101. I got to work with a guy who did lead roofs in England. In 10 years, I hope to be visiting the Galopogos. My first job was at Kiddie Park, where I got paid $1 an hour to watch people have fun. What I remember most about it is if it paid better I'd still be there..
