Robert Rivera:  

I was born in NYC on 12/28/1941 and lived there the first 14 years of my life on 138th Street between Broadway/Hamilton Place and Amsterdam Avenue in Manhatten. I attended and graduated in 1956 from Our Lady of Lourdes School on 143rd Street between Amsterdam Avenue and Convent Avenue also in Manhatten. We moved shortly thereafter in 1956 to Bergenfield, New Jersey and attended Bergenfield Junior and Senior High School. In 1959 we moved, once again, to Puerto Rico and I attended and graduated in 1960 from Colegio San Antonio in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. I entered the University of Puerto Rico in 1960 and graduated in 1964 earning a Degree in Business Administration with majors in Management and Finance. I was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army via Officer Candidate School and servrd a total of eight years. During the next 15 years I got married and had 4 wonderful children. I worked for a few Insurance Companies starting out in sales as an agent and moving up into management attaining VP status in sales and director of agencies. I finished off my insurance career in Puerto Rico as an independent Insurance Broker and ultimately coordinated all of the Puerto Rican government's insurance needs for the Bureau of Public Insurance of the Puerto Rico Treasury Department.
