Robert's Story
Robert "Ed" Smith, known mostly as "Satch". Got married right out of high school. Divorced in 72. Married again. Moved to Tampa, Florida. Divorced in 80. Moved to Sacramento, CA. A friend asked me to come to South Dakota. I did. Have not made enough money to leave. Met a wonderful woman, whom I have been married to for 24 years. I now live in Sturgis, SD. A small quiet town in the Black Hills. I love it here. Custer was here. Deadwood is 12 miles away. Mt Rushmore is 50 miles away. Lots of hist...Expand for more
ory. Clean. This is the Harley- Davidson capitol of the world. Each August, 400,00 bikers come to the Black Hills Rally. Sometimes a great show. Great concerts. I work in a gold and silver jewelry factory. I make it to Middletown about once a year to see my mom. It is sad to see how bad the city has become. I grew there and it has not changed for the better. All the old memory places are gone. Hope to hear from some of you. I wonder what happened to our classmates. I am sure many, like me, left.
