Robert's Story
Just a quick update on my life for the past 50 years. Left high school and joined the Air Force. Stayed 22 years and went to RVN 3 times. Went Panama, CZ and then to Alexandria, La. Got married to Kathi Muehl who was 17 at the time. We've been married 42 years now. From La. Moved to MacDill, AFB., Tampa, Fl and after 3 years went to Spangdahlem AB, Germany. Spent 3 years there, making it to Paris and all over the low countries. Back to Alexandria, La for three years, during which I went to Korea. By that time I had two sons. after Korea by myself I went to Hill AFB, Utah with the family. We all went to England (the country) for another three years. My wife stayed in England for a fourth year while I and my sons came back to Kissimmee. I retired in England and went to UCF in Orlando while in Kissimmee. Tampa. I graduated from college at USF, after 21 years of college and 11 universities. I was working a newspaper reporter/editor/photographer in Brandon and Tampa for five years. My wife was transferred to Tyndall AFB, Fla (Panama City) for a couple of years where I worked at a TV station and then went to work at the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, where it did variety of jobs. She was then transferred to Barksdale AFB, La, at Shreveport. We are still here. I now have three grandchildren and I quit working last May, on my 67th birthday.
The term been there and done that kinda applies. I got kicked in the head in RVN, got my throat cut in Biloxi, MS due to a fight over a woman (before I got married). I was bit by a dolphin while standing on a sidewalk in Orlando. Drove race cars, been on four cruises, flew airplanes (solo) and just had a group of fun.
