Robert's Story
I have been self-employed most of my life. I have worked for others in electronics and computer networking, but I have always returned to building (houses mostly) the love of my life. I started when I was 13 working for George (Butch) Kevick father as a carpenter. I worked for him 8 years mostly in the summers. Wood is in my blood. I call my business WoodArt. I do all kinds of trades: framing, furniture, metalwork, tile, concrete, electrical, plumbing and others. I built a sawmill and mill lumber for my projects: hardwoods and softwoods. I like to write and I wrote a book called WouldArt, please buy it at Amazon. I am a thinker, I got a BS in psychology & philosophy at Austin Peay State University in 1971. I have an associate degree in electronics from Albuquerque Technical Institute (19...Expand for more
75) and worked in the industry for 10 years. I worked in Electrical Engineering for Walt Disney on Epcot. I have 20 Microsoft certifications and was an MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) in 1997. I worked as a network engineer and also taught computer networking as a MCT (Microsoft Certified Trainer). However building is what I love most. I am living in the fifth new house I have built for my wife and kids. We live off the electrical grid and produce all our electricity from solar, we are never out of power. I have been married to Susan for 30 years and have two daughters, Olivia (22) & Sierra (25). I have had my ups and downs in life but I am thankful for my journey and path. I have a website called woodart.net, check out my work and writing and drop me a line - best regards.
