Robert's Story
Life
Hello! If anyone cares...I went to Temple U as a Film student. I went to Cuba for a month to help film a Documentry on the embargo...Then I realized that a job that paid some $$ would be smarter(there is no $ in Documentry Film, I soon realized) I moved to New Orleans and went to Culinary school. Then I moved to Northern California and went to the California Culinary Academy to receive a Pasrty Chef certification. I am now back in New Orleans working a the Ritz-Carlton. I was offered a Job to work under the chef from The Ritz(Paris) at a Hotel called The Windsor Court(in New Orleans), and I accepted the job yesterday and am very excited. Hope all is well w/ everybody.

It's been forever since I last logged onto Classmates.com.....
After the Windsor court job, I took a job as Head Pastry Chef for Emeril's in New Orleans. After that I was offered a job as Head Banquet Pastry Chef at The Rittenhouse Hotel / LaCroix in Philadelphia. Returning to Philly was a bit of a dissappointment. I lived in Philly while attending Temple U and liked it. This time I hated it. The people suck in Philly. Either loud mouth idiots or extremely stuck up main line assholes. I couldn't wait to get back to New Orleans!
THEN.....as you all know....Katrina hit New Orleans. I evacuated the day before and headed to West Virginia for 2 weeks then Jer...Expand for more
sey. I got a temporary job in Aspen Colorado at the Hotel Jerome. Aspen was cool, if your a raging coke head. LOL From Aspen I went to Denver for about 4 months. Then back to New Orleans. It was very depressing in NOLA for a few years, parts of the city had no electricity and every house was abandoned. The only good about Katrina was when the economy collapsed , we were buffered from the economic woes do to all the money pouring into the city to rebuild.
I was a personal chef for about 5 years, until about a year ago, being almost 40 in a few years, and even though I was doing ok financially, unless you own your own restaurant, there is only so much money you can make being a chef, even at the top restaurants. So I went back to school to get my Real Estate license, and took a job up here in Shreveport, La. at Coldwell Banker. Hence the uptight stiff picture I uploaded (it was done for work...lol). The economy is really good here. We have a growing Airforce base (Barksdale) and the Haynesville Shale/Natural gas deposits. BUT, there are tons of rednecks, bible belt mega-church gunfreaks everywhere......Texas is less than 20 miles away. Texans are really annoying. I miss New Orleans and hope to get back there soon. People are very down to earth and friendly. Though they tend to be alcoholics...but You can't have everything I guess...lol
