Robert's Story
Life
After school I did 1-semester at GCC then joined the NAVY. I enjoyed the military (see milatary bio). After Desert Shield / Desert Storm I went into the active reserves and continued on in college here in AZ. I am happily married and have 4-great kids. We live in a small comunity 20 miles north of Wickenburg where I also volunteer with the Wickenburg Lions, and a Children's Minister at FSBC Wickenburg.
School
At five foot two and clocking in at 98 lbs., those who remeber me can understand why school was not the best experience I had. It wasn't until our senior year (my growth spurt) that I was actually starting to be accepted. Sure most of you were friends - we grew up together. Military
Slacked off and college counslers were not readily available to someone as creative as myself, so I joined the Navy to help finance college. Almost made a career out of it, but met someone special while in Scottland. We were to be married after my tour in Saudi.
I served in the Navy's Construction Battalion, going to A-School in Port Hueneme, CA, then served at Twenty Nine Palms, CA. Transfered into limbo (waiting for orders) in Orlando, FL working over boot-campers. Finally assigned to NMCB-1 in Gulf Port, MS where I served through Desert Shiled / Desert Storm and then went into the reserves. I seperated from the reserves in 1997 becuase of hardship and career, but a day does not go by when I consider going back in.
