Robert's Story

I moved around a lot. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was Born in Pasadena, TX. My parents divorced when I was 5. My father got custody the day I finished the 4th grade(I was 9). We moved to Ingram the next day. I went to the little green Ingram Elementary for 5th and 6th grade. I liked a girl named Kelly but she broke up with me when her brother Mike told her I only liked her for her clay during art class. Not long after that we moved to Medina, TX where I attended the 7th and part of 8th grade. I still have relatives in that area (the Keeses, and Whiteheads) although I doubt they would know who I am. At that time the schoolhouse was in what I think used to be an old movie theater. The old schoolhouse was torn down long ago and a new fancy one built in its place. The first girl I ever kissed was there behind the gymnasium. The next day she decided she liked my best friend better. Our next major move was to Colorado, where I attended Wheatridge Junior High in Denver for two months before moving to Summit County High School for the rest of 8th and 9th. We stayed in the campgrounds for the entire summer before Moving back to Center Point Texas. I Attended Center Point High School during 10th grade. Our Last move was back to Ingram where I finally finished the 11th and 12th grade with my old friends from the 5th and 6th grade. I never finished the 12 grade. Well, actually I got out and got a GED at Shrieners College before the re...Expand for more
st of my class graduated. I was an alcoholic and a rebel. I worked full time at a local mechanics garage for minimum wage for about a year before Joining the NAVY in April of 1984. My Navy plan was to be a SEAL. My plans went out the window when I decided to get married right out of bootcamp. I got re-motivated and made a real good attempt to be a Navy SEAL 4 years later. Several injuries into training I "Rang Out"(quit) after I held my breath until I passed out underwater and got pneumonia. SEAL Training was a very important turning point in my life. Regardless of whether or not I actually made it through training, I learned that pretty much anything was possible if you wanted it bad enough. The words "I Can't" simply means "I Don't Want To". 3 children later, I too got a divorce. It has been a rough road having them so far away. After 20 years I retired from the Navy. During that 20 years my primary skill was Corpsman (Navy Medic). I spent 7 years as a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman primarily working as a hospital laboratory technician. After returning from Desert Storm in 1991, I Attended Naval Deep Sea Diving School in Panama City, Florida. I graduated at the very top of my class becoming a Diving Medical Technician. I did many interesting and exciting things as a U.S. Navy Diver including teaching diving for the same school that I attended. I remarried during my last tour of duty in Hawaii back in 2000. My wife and I have moved around alot since my retirement. I currently own an RV Service company in Arizona where I am a Master RV Service Technician. See me on the web at RVCOUNTRYLLC.COM
