Robert's Story
Life
Wow....you actualy stopped by! Not too many would even recognize the name. However since you are here, I will fill you in the best that I can. After the bad dream that high school was for me, I attended Triangle Tech and embarked on the wonderful world of Mechanical Drafting. After several forgettable jobs, I took a job at the company with whom I am still employed today (you never heard of them). After much hard work, world travel (South America, Europe, China, India, Hong Kong) and lots of self learning, I currently find myself doing the work I love.....programming and development. My interest and involvement with computers dates back to '77 when I wrote programs to perform engineering calculations on an old minicomputer equipped with a teletype terminal. Currently I am heavily involved in 3D modeling (CAD) and design automation. During this time I was introduced (through a blind date arranged by a classmate whom I considered my best friend at the time....someone I would like to hear from) to my wife Laurie. long distance courtship we married in '83 and continue to be happily married today! We have two daughters, 13 & 9 who are the joys of our lives. Laurie was an elementary teacher for 12 years before becoming (I am very proud to say) a stay home Mom. As a family we enjoy skiing (snow of course), skating (ice of course) and any other activity that we can do together. In between working and spending time with 'the girls', I am running a part time computer consulting and programming business. I am happy, well adjusted and really still the nice guy that you never really knew. If you enjoyed this, write and tell me about it! Robert '74
Edit 10/2009 - Our daughters are older and both in college now...Leanne (22) is a 4th year Pharmacy student at Duquesne University and Carly (18) is a freshman Biology Education major at Penn State University Park. Laurie and I are still happily married and are enjoying our "empty nesthood" during the week.... Leanne and Carly are home as much as possible, we are very close and must have made things too good here :-).
