Robert's Story
Spent a year in college up in Wenatchee after high school because my Dad transferred up there.Spent my senior year in East Wenatchee(High School) feeling really lost and alone after having gone my first two years at K.U. Probably the worst year of my life. Was still working summers for the CDF in MacDoel and Yreka. Spent the next year back up in Wenatchee at college(folks were still there, cheap tuition). The year following I met Marilyn. We have been maried 46 years in June. Have one Daughter and one Grandson.Went on through college at COCC Bend. Then worked the rest of the Viet Nam war for the D.O.D. U.S. Navy. After that I worked in machine shops and eventually apprenticed as a toolmaker/machinist. I attended all of the special schools that NAPA sponsored on fuel systems,electrica...Expand for more
l and charging, brakes and suspension. Most of it was a repeat of what I took in College but it kept me up to date on tech stuff for my employer.Worked in engine shops, general machine job shops, tool and die shops and have been running my own shop for about 20 years.I worked as a gunmaker doing restoration on Victorian era firearms and building many from scratch. Then made bullet moulds for several years and am now partly retired and running a engine shop part time.In 2010 I had a massive heart attack that pretty much killed me a couple of times while the doctors were working on me. Much of the damage that was done is healing and I'm doing pretty well these days. I would love to see as many of my classmates from KU as possible.Hope to see as many of you as possible.God bless you all,Rob
