Robert's Story
Life
Today, I shared one of my favorite poems, George Herbert's The Pulley, one I learned at Maury in the 11th grade, with a patient and we both were encouraged by it. Herbert was a 17th century country parson and poet who touched my life 50 years ago because of a caring teacher.
I could not be happier with my life. Dottie and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary this year. I treat psychiatric patients three days a week and I practice forensic psychiatry when called upon.

In 4 days I will be 73. I don't feel it and I do see retirement as an option.
Senda B. Wood taught me to appreciate music in the 5th bell chorus and it continues to enrich my life.
How blessed we were to spend our young adulthood at Maury! "Thee will I cherish."
Military
In 1998 I retired as Colonel from the US Army Reserve Medical Corps after 24 years of service. My last assignment was Chief of Professional Services, or Deputy Commander, 2290th US Army Hospital (1000 Bed), Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D. C. I also served as Chief of Neuropsychiatry for the 2290th at WRAMC.
I strongly support our men in women in the Armed Forces. They are protecting our freedom.
