Robert's Story
Hi folks, I have graduated in 2003 at Cyfalls High School where people most knew me from band (I was a trombone player) but I wouldn't be surprised either if you haven't heard of me, I mostly kept things to myself. I've been going through a rough time with college and finding a job but things have gotten alot better. I at least am in the right track. straight from high school I got a band scholarship to Blinn College, where I was there for a year. But I blew it when my grades started to slip. How did that happen? I became lazy, gained the "freshman 15 and then some" and I hung out with the wrong crowd. sure college can be about partying but it can lead you to trouble. so after transfering to Lonestar college (known as Cy-fair college back then) I still did the same thing, I failed at almost every subject becuase I just stopped trying. I was in a rut. Finally was able to get a job at Cynthia Woods Pavilion during my "long vacation time" and I still work there. Then after awhile, I was still feeling like I was going nowhere (...Expand for more
my income was basically non existent) until my mom pushed me to at least take a tour at the art institute. (I have always wanted to go there, but at the time, I thought my chances were as high as going to harvard, it wasn't going to happen). Lo and behold, I realized that it was possible and the next thing I knew it, I was at the art institute of houston. I still go there now, and am getting my associate degree and life couldn't be better. I've matured a lot especially with responsibilities and deadlines. I want to major in graphic design and I'm half way there! I also have a NHS award and president of the music club (and this music club isn't just for band geeks).
I have numerous profiles like myspace (the royal duke) and twitter (silent texan; one word) but i rarely go on there unless I get an e-mail or a comment. But you are more then welcome to "request-a-friend". I also have an account on the Houston classmates alumni so you can look for me there.
lol, sorry about the length. When I have a life story, expect a novel!
