Bob's Story
Graduated 1980, met my wife that summer at a backyard party. Weeks later met her again, she was dating Tom Bass from Royal Oak whom became Tommy Lee of Motley Crue.
We married, 5 children. Owned numerous businesses with my father, eventually we were bought out, I completed the path I started in 1981 returning to school, becoming a Paramedic, then a Firefighter . Always been known to be that guy you could count on, to help at anytime, one that cares and protected. It was a natural fit.
We eventually settled on the central coast, Paso Robles.
Currently we have four grandchildren. Our daughters family lives down the street from our home, all the boys and their families either locally or close approximation.
Linda, my wife, had been highly competitive at the national level in horses. I became involved in showing and breeding dogs, Rottweilers, competing throughout Europe. We still show, Rotts and French Bulldogs, still competing and enjoying the friends it generates.
Linda decided at age 51 to become a bodybuilder, she became dissatisfied with her body from running. 7 years later, competing across the USA she amassed the physique and then the big wins to be awarded the title of IFBB Pro Figure, Like horses, she immediately took root in the Masters Pro League Division competing across the USA and the world. Very, very proud of her. 2022 placing 2nd at the IFBB Pro League Masters World Championships,. At 61 her work ethic and determination is inspiring.
Retirement is coming, global travels we hope to visit all those from dogs and bodybuilding.
It's been too fast, much too fast and so much left to do. The road has been bumpy, losing friends and family along the way that we will always remember and cherish in their memories.
It’s been a hard life, but it’s been a fair life. It’s always interesting to look back at the path you cut, the choices made that brought you to this moment. Mistakes are made, but you ...Expand for more
put them in your rear view mirror and keeping driving forward.
We lost a son all too soon in his life, I became a Paramedic as our loss created a renewed pathway to help others, it’s been highly fulfilling to help others when they need resolve in a time of need. To give comfort to another whether human or animal is very soul cleansing.
It’s been a rewarding career serving the community, helping over 60,000 patients as a Paramedic. 1999 I was caught in an explosion of Dioxin (Agent Orange), then fell 30’ through an opening to the concrete below. I would spend the remainder of my life fighting severe health issues while continuing my career to support our family, raise our children, put all through Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. January 2023 I was taken off line due to severe Complex PTSD. In my career I dealt with both shoulders being reconstructed, knees and hips with injections, a torn bicep, 9 displaced vertebrae, 7 bulged disc, 3 cervical bulged disc, kidney damage, two fully blocked coronary arteries, numerous second degree burns, one burned retina, numerous concussions, mass permanent endocrine and hormone disruption, hearing loss…. I played the game hard and ultimately the endless onslaught of watching families ripped apart, murder, endless death,, Covid and the all too young deaths from the vaccine compounded my CPTSD and was deemed severely psychologically injured. Retirement is pending numerous attempts at rehabilitation., not much they can do for the worst of them all, CPTSD.
Time is fleeting, it’s time to open another door marked retirement in 2023… the world will be ours to greet old and new friends….. to enjoy our grandchildren and pass down the values we find so desirable.
It’s been hard, but a good life….I don’t get the option to relax, I have to continue the fight for myself so others can benefit from what I learn. I will never quit helping others, it’s why we are here in this life,
