Robert's Story
Was a disc jockey on KVOZ with Tunes For Teens / hung out at City Drug / best friend Ricardo "Pino" Villarreal / dated several girls - Mary Vela, Norma Garcia, ... announed the Half Times at football games - lived at Mc Millan Park outside Laredo Air Force base - was in Pan American Club - worked on the school paper and played records in the gym every morning before school started and again at lunch. Was in ROTC - wore glasses then (don't now) have a great sense of humor, always joking around. Took Sara Parker to the Senior Prom - lost contact with Sara after I moved to San Antonio and KONO. went on to Work in Atlanta, then for the ABC Network doing news for them and traveling. I have been in Dallas since 1974 - am out of radio now and do a lot of writing - lyrics for music, screenplays, poetry. Favorite music: Quarter Notes, Esquivel, Los Panchos, Ralph Flanagan, Les Elgart, Ray Anthony, Sinatra, Joni James, 4 Aces, 4 Freshmen.... Disc Jockey for the Hispanic radio network out of Dallas for 2 years - Midnight to 5am - became friends with Clayton Moore The Lone Ranger for the last 11 years of his life (Wonderful human being, straight as an arrow - NO Hollywood scandals) - Have a daughter, Lisa - married living in Colo. - I've been divorced for some 25 years.
