Robert's Story
Life
Married Tomoko Shimoji (HHS '84 exchange student from Japan) Have two kids, 10 1/2 year-old Micah (boy) and 4 year-old Misha (girl). Got a B.S. and M.S. from Brigham Young University in Physical Chemistry (Thermodynamics) and a Ph.D. from Princeton University in Geosciences. We live in Los Alamos New Mexico where I work for the National Laboratory here. We were here for the Los Alamos fires of 2000 and we survived but it was close. s of loosing our home. Since then we have moved into a nice new home and have settled in. We will be here for a while. I work in the Nuclear Materials Technology division as a pit engineer and team leader of the Pit Surveillance program. Which simply means I get to take things apart that most of the world would like to see taken apart anyway. I also do research on new materials for the disposal of weapons grade Plutonium once removed from the weapons stock pile.
