Robert's Story
After graduating I spent seven years in aviation and as a McDonaldâs manager and from there worked about 15 more years in restaurant management from Texas to Minnesota. In my late 30âs I decided to go to college in Maine. I earned a Degree in Marine Biology and Oceanography, a Degree in Geosciences, a Masterâs Degree in Science Education, and a Certificate in Advanced Studies in Science Education (A non-thesis PHD). It didnât make me any smarter, I am just more educated. mate research. After about three years I found it boring and i also got very sea sick every time I had to go out to sea. I have 9 children and my wife suggested since I act so much like a kid and enjoy science why not become a teacher and so here I am. I have taught high school science and I now teach Grade 8 science at Houlton Middle School in Houlton Maine. I have enjoyed teaching very much. I think it s the best job in the world. I am fortunate that I work in a public school district with a strong Christian community that still demands that students always be respectful and have a good work ethic. I have been married to my wife for 30 years and my kids are all grown. Time has gone by really fast, donât you think?
