Robert's Story

Life One day in June of 1965 I awoke to find I was in the real world, what shall I do? I went to computer programing school in White Plains with my friend Frank Tittleback.(Whom I just found again after 35 years). We started June 29th right after graduation. Graduated again in September and went to work for IBM, lasted one day! My folks were really disappointed. I had no idea what I was going to do. Worked in the Grand Union on Croton Avenue, drove a delivery truck and worked for Hudson Electric on Main Street. I still didn't know what I wanted to do. Somewhere along the road I decided to drive a school bus. I worked for Chappaqua Bus then for Vanguard Tours.I taught ...Expand for more
for the National Safety Counsel training bus drivers in New York State. Vanguard Tours presented me an opportunity to move into management which I did. I became the Safety Director. Vanguard Tours was later sold to Laidlaw Bus Company the largest school bus company in the U.S. and I was looking for a job! I had always had the desire to be in my own business so two weeks later I opened Briar Taxi (later to become BC Taxi) in Ossining and Briarcliff. That was July 1976. It did well and I eventually sold the company in 2003 and retired for a while. Oh yes along the way I married Kathiann and we have two beautiful daughters. Did I mention our six dogs? How about a reunion?
