Life Wow... 39 years as a counselor, dean of students, assistant principal, principal, social studies techer and Director of Special Education in fourteen different school districts. Added to that, I spent a year overseas as a guidance counselor at the American Community School of Athens, Greece. Time really flies when you're having fun. Most recently, after four years as the Guidance Director at Lyman Hall High in Wallingford,Connecticut I retired during the summer of 2004. I unretired that September and replaced a middle school counselor who was out on maternity leave the first semester. I had a short unretirement of three weeks and then replaced a high school counselor in another district who was on paternity leave until the end of the school year. Last year, I was a full time guidance sub in the Watertown district, first at the high school and then at the middle school, working primarily with special education and students at risk. This year I returned as a subsitute counselor at Watertown High for three months and then had a long retirement hibernation.
