Roberta's Story
Life
I am a Registered Nurse living in Smyrna Tennessee. I have a son Joseph, 30 and a daughter Dorothy, 20. I also have 4 stepdaughters: Catherine 35, Cristy 33, Cary 31 and Cherie 30. I have 6 grandchildren: McKinzy 14, Camarie 13, Megan 8, Chayse 7, Hunter 4 and Taylor Alexis that died at 10 weeks of SIDS. My husband Jerry and I have been married 25 years-second marriage for both. Jerry is a brick/block/stone mason and has been working at it since he was 12 years old. He is a Master Craftsman and a true artist when it come to creating stonework. He was injured on the job last year and he will have to learn not to work as hard-maybe not to work at all. This is a difficult time for the family because he is very loved by all of us and has always been able to be the primary bread winner(face it, he's a workaholic!) My main job at this time is to love and support him-that's why I don't live in Virginia at this time. I still love to have fun, do things on the spur of the moment and dance as if there is no tommorrow. I love music and the water and the healing power of both. re and need more peace and serenity than ever before in my life. I need good frineds and acceptance at this time in my life.
At this age I have finally figured out that all I need is to be happy. When I tell people that they ask-"what is happiness?---It's whatever it is for you. You will feel it when it comes.
I wish you all happiness.
School
If I would have known then what I know now I would have had much more fun-but I had a blast then!! Marching Band, the Shit-kickers, learning how to speed-read, working at the Village Inn Pizza Parlor, Washington Square Mall, Outside Inn, Hartke Pool, Arc Lanes, Surf Club and oh, those guys from Memorial High School. As I watch my daughter graduate from high school I remember back to mine and realize that I was blessed by all of the friends that I had. Thank you all for blessing my life. I love you all.
College
I only spent one semester at Murray but met people that I would like to hook up with again. I want to find Mark Gipson, Cindy Compton, Mary Fitzgerald and the others that ran with us. We all lived on the second floor of Clark Hall, Fall semester 1971.
