Workplace I retired (April 30, 2006) after 27.5 years from MUC (now VIU). Retirement is everything it's hyped up to be! Current Activity Now that I have two new knees -- lawn bowling, golfing, spending time with grandkids and lots of travelling! Since retiring and getting the new knees (in 2007) we've been to Florida to see a shuttle launch, cruising the South Pacific, cruised to Hawaii, cruised to Alaska, been to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta. And the adventure begins ..... The Mediterranean cruise (24 days) was amazing! Turkey, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Croatia -- would go back to all of them. The Acropolis was awe-inspiring and the Pyramids (Giza and Saqqara) were massive and getting inside the burial chamber of the second pyramid of Giza made for a profound experience. Spent Christmas and New Years (2010) in Mexico and celebrated with the locals - was very interesting. Our 32 day South American cruise was quite an adventure - starting with an 8.8 earthquake in Chile that caused lots of problems getting to the ship (2 days late leaving). Didn't see any penguins, so will be trying again so...Expand for more
