School
Went to three different high schools - one in New York City, one in Ohio, and ended up in Las Vegas at Western, where I graduated in 1964. My father retired in Las Vegas and that is how I ended up at Western High School. He was career Navy and we moved all over the world and the country - moved 11 times in 14 years.
I was always the "new kid" in school and it has its trials and tribulations attached. I felt very lonely in school as the groups and cliques had already been established. in. It was not a fun time for me. I think things would have been different if we had stayed in one place yet that was beyond my control. I would have liked to had more friends and more fun in school and have better memories instead of the loneliness that ensued with all the moving and constant adjustments.
By attending Eastern schools, I was younger than most of the students in my graduating class as I had already earned enough credits minus 4 when I came to Nevada as a result of eastern-based curriculum. Being younger than the others was not that great - everyone else could drive and I couldn't!
