Peggy's Story
Life
Has it been almost 38 years since graduation??? Tell me it isn't so...
Where do you start to fill in the blanks, after all these years? A year after graduation, I married, and worked at IU Medical Center for several years. I had and have..2 sons and stayed married for 10 years. I remarried in 1979, and have been married to the same person, on and off, for 25 years.
I have lived in several states, since 1984, at that time I moved away from Indy, and relocated in Virginia, Washington DC area. I lived there for almost 10 years, at which time, I started my own company. Life was very good in DC., but the cost of living, and the traffic, really takes a toll on you. My son's enjoyed the historical part and the hustle and bustle of Washington, but I really longed to be back home.
When my son's were in college, I sold my company, and moved to Bentonville, Arkansas. Talk about a culture change....but what a pleasent restful surprise living there became. As you might have guessed, my husband is with Wal-Mart, since there Home Office is located there. I presently am with Snyders of Hanover...you know the pretzel company, and love my job as National Account Manager. I do travel, a bit too much, but it comes with the territory...so what can you do. I have traveled all over the US, Canada, and Mexico. This company has afforded me the pleasure of meeting a lot of wonderful people, from many cultures. God truly has been very good to me over the years. I just recently moved over New Years Eve...Expand for more
, to the Geist area. We have a beautiful home, and God just keeps blessing.
My youngest son is married, and has 4 children, ages 9 to 3. He works for a law firm in downtown Indy, and his wife is a Cardiac nurse at the Heart Hospital. My oldest son lives in Bentonville, Ar., and has 2 daughters, one 13, from his wife's previous marriage, and a 4 year old. He is with Wal-Mart, at the Home Office, and is a Buyer, and his wife is a Buyers Assistant.
My mother, and all but one sister lives in Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia, I travel there as must a possible. Life has been good to them.
It's funny how life turns out for all of us....who would have thought, that the little girls who lived on the eastside with her mother, and 5 sibblings, on welfare, would have come so far.
God has played a major role in my life, and I truly owe Him the honor and glory for all he has done, and continues to do in my life, as well as my children and grandchildren.
There are friends that I have lost touch with, that I hope to find again, and tell them how they played a part in who I am today. And there are friends that I loved, and lost, and hope to find, and tell them that I never forgot them.
Our school, our teachers, our neighborhoods, all played a part in all of us....and I do miss the simple and care free times we had. But time never stands still....
I do love life, and all that has been generously given me.
I hope when I make contact again with all of you, that life has been good as well....
