experience and a beautiful way to see California. College I started at San Diego Mesa College with a degree in Clothing Design. I decided to switch to Nutrition when I transferred to San Diego State but after a few classes, I knew I would never eat again if I continued in this major. I switched to Sports Medicine and I got my bachleor's degree in May 1982. I was a springboard diver for both Mesa College and San Diego State, winning the All-American Award in Diving at Mesa in 1979. Workplace I graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Sports Medicine and was unable to get a job in my major without further education.I was not interested in the graduate program in Sports Medicine at SDSU and I heard about an Orthopedic Technology program at Grossmont College. I graduated in 1984 and was employed at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in the cast room.This was a county hospital and I had my eyes opened to a whole new world. I learned so much in the 1 1/2 years I was there. I took a job with an Orthopedic Surgeon closer to my home but felt unfulfilled in an office situation. I got the perfect job at FHP working in the clinic, hospital and as an assistant in the operating room. This gaving me the invaluable experience to arrive at my next career in medical implant sales. I sell hip and knee replacement and work with the surgeons in the operating room during the surgery. I love the excitement of it.
