Robin's Story
The death in Sept. 2007 of the love of my life, Mike, my long-time boyfriend (should've been husband) was the biggest shock of my life. Being the one to find him was unimagineable and not something I'd wish on anybody. The only thing that would come close would be the loss of my very close friend a few years ago to multiple cancers.
Can my do-over be almost all of the year 2007???? There are so many things I'd like to redo, it would just be easier to redo the whole year.
If I won $100 million, I'd give 25% or more of it to my church, then spend the rest on a house, my family, traveling and put some in savings.
I share my home with my daughter and grandson, which I find totally rewarding. The only thing better would be having a little more room and a yard. My dream home would be Mike's house with new carpet, tile and paint plus the hot tub he always wanted.
My first job was at National Food Stores, where I got paid $2.65 an hour to check out and bag groceries. What I remember most about it is how all of us were like a big family and had so much fun at work and away from work.
Weird might not be the right word for it, but delivering newspapers for 7 years ...Expand for more
was probably the most out-of-character job I've had. But, then again, managing a convenience store wasn't exactly something I ever pictured myself doing either. That only lasted 3 1/2 months.
My favorite way to relax is watching TV or a movie, surfing the 'net, playing games online or going to a movie.
Probably the wildest thing I ever did in school was skipping the 2nd half of psychology everyday my senior year (unless there was a test).
I've lived in Mobile since I was 4 and can't imagine living anywhere else.
My obsessions are probably my computer, watching my favorite TV shows (most all of which are crime dramas) and most anything related to law enforcement.
I love my job but at this point I guess my only "career aspiration" would be retirement. :-)
Dressing in the latest "style" means absolutely nothing to me. Give me jeans, a t-shirt and tennis shoes anyday. I hate dresses or anything dressy and wear them only when absolutely required.
In 10 years, I hope to be a lot better off financially. I'm going to get there by working a lot of overtime!
True happiness would be a week in Hawaii with Mike just being together with no concerns about anything.
