TECHNICAL SERGEANT ROBIN G. GILES
AFSC: 3C071, COMMUNICATIONS-COMPUTER SYSTEMS OPERATIONS CRAFTSMAN
Technical Sergeant Robin G. Giles is an Air Force/Department of Defense Intelligence Information Systems Security Certifier assigned to the Air Force Service Certifying Organization, Air Force Command and Control & Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance Center, Operating Location -F, Lackland AFB, TX.
Sergeant Giles was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Murrell Dobbins Area Technical Vocational School, majoring in Commercial Art. He excelled in academics, was inducted into the Mustang chapter of the National Honor Society, and graduated class valedictorian.
After graduating high school in June 1979, Sergeant Giles attended the Philadelphia College of Art, majoring in Illustration and earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1983. He then entered the United States Air Force in May 1984.
Upon completion of basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas in June 1984, Sergeant Giles began technical training as a Communications-Computer Systems Operator at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. Upon his graduation in August 1984, he was then assigned to Headquarters Air Force Military Personnel Center (AFMPC), Randolph Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

, he was then assigned to the U.S. Army White House Communications Agency (WHCA).
While at WHCA he worked as a System Administrator for IBM mainframe computer systems as well as Data Technician Lead for Presidential Advance support. Sergeant Giles supported 200 Presidential travel missions, including two Presidential campaigns in six years. He was awarded the Presidential Service Badge and two Joint Service Commendation Medals during his tour.
Sergeant Giles was assigned to the 303rd Communication Squadron, Osan Air Base, Korea in August 1994, where he served as Communications Center Shift Supervisor.
Sergeant Giles was then assigned to the Air Force Information Warfare Center (AFIWC), Kelly Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, where he served as Helpdesk Technician, Small Computer Maintenance Technician and UNIX System Administrator. During this period he was also deployed to San Vito Air Station, San Vito dei Normanni, Italy, in support of Operation Joint Endeavor, where he served as Non Commissioned Officer In Charge of the Communications Center.
In February 2001, Sergeant Giles was assigned to the 374th Communications Squadron, Yokota Air Base, Japan. He served as NCOIC, Defense Message System (DMS) and Exchange. Sergeant Giles culminated his tour at Yokota Air Base with a 132-day deployment in support of Joint Task Force 510 and Operation Enduring Freedom.
I am now retired from active duty military service and working as a government contractor on Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
