Robin's Story
Life
I live in beautiful Seattle. I came up here in 2000 leaving So Cal behind. I met and fell in love with a Boeing man named Doug. I have been married twice and Doug and I got married on 5/02/2009 in Sedona, AZ. I know that the third time is the charm. The first time I had two beautiful daughters. Sabrina is now 24 , going to UNLV and working in the finance department of a Ford dealership. Holly is 22 and got married on 10/08/2006 and just like her sister (she married at 18) she divorced a year later. She is going to UNLV and works as a Teller Supervisor for US Bank. My second husband is still one of my very best friends we just weren't meant to live as husband and wife. I spent 7 years in Hollywood living as an actor. I was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and I worked on hundreds of movie and television shows as a union extra. I also did many musical theatre productions with Civic Light Operas. I have now settled down and gotten a real job. I am happy and content and I never in a million years could have thought that this would be my life.
College
I waited until after the kids and the divorce to go back to college. I graduated from Victor Valley College with an AA in 1988. I was one of 7 valedictorians. I transferred to Univ Calif Riv...Expand for more
erside and graduate with honors and as a Phi Beta Kappa scholar in 1990 with a BA in Linquistics and a minor in Drama. I consider myself to be on the twelve year plan. It took me 12 years from high school diploma to BA and it took me 12 years from BA to get my MBA which I completed with honors from the University of Phoenix in 2002. I now have 12 years to get my Doctorate. I love learning, thats why I was in the education business. I will never stop going to school.
Workplace
I have been in the education field as Director of Finance for different colleges up in the Seattle area. I worked my way up to a regional director overseeing the finance department of 10 schools in the northwest. I then transfered to a small private school that gave ABET degrees in Engineering. It was a 5 mile comute and I loved it. However, the college closed in October 2006. I wasunemployed until June 2007. I was hired by Boeing. (6/2007) On 5/9/2008 I became a direct employee at Boeing (instead of contract) and I worked in the 787 program finance. I was a level 4 integrator for certification but I am a casualty of the economy and Boeing's workforce reduction effort. I was laid off on 5/22/09. so now I am taking it easy for a little while while I figure out what's next.
