Life
I got married to classmate, David Opstad in July of 1970 - 45 years ago this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In June of 1971 I became a Registered Nurse. I have worked in many areas of nursing from pediatrics, geriatrics, medical and surgical, psychiatry, to my last job of high school nurse for 11 years in our home town (Hyde Park, NY -home of Franklin Delano Roosevelt). For the last 13 years, I have been working in our business office - we own and operate 7 McDonald's Restaurants. Dave worked his way up from a grill person in McDonald's to an executive with the company and in 1983 became an owner/operater of his own McDonald's. We have two girls - 39 and 36. ves. Carrey is a teacher with a degree in special ed K-12 and elementary ed, and is at home with the kids. Her husband is one of our McDonald's supervisors and a Chef, having graduated from the Culinary Institute of America here in our home town. Our youngest daughter Allison, works in our office doing accounting and all other office work for the businesses. She has a significant other, David, of 12 years, who is thought of as a son-in-law too. He is a jack of all trades and works at restoring homes. We enjoy traveling, and being with family and friends, and Dave loves golf. We have a house on the Hudson River and enjoy watching the river go by with all the river traffic. Every season is great. We also have a place in South Carolina (on a golf course) with the ocean at the back of our community. We are truly blessed in our lives.
