Robin Amiot:

CLASS OF 1979
Woodbury, MN

Robin's Story

After high school, I attended 916 Vo-Tech(now known as Century College) and received a BA in Accounting. A few parttime jobs later, I was employed by the Federal Govt working for the Veterans Administration in their Centralized Accounts Receivable Section. I worked there for a few years. Then worked for the State of MN as an accountant. I got tired of renting an apartment so I purchased a condo in Woodbury in 1989. I met my husband in 1991. We were married in 1994. I sold my condo and moved into his house in Blaine were we still live today. Our son was born in 1997. I became a stay at home mom, working odd and parttime jobs here and there to help make ends meet. Currently, I work full time at Centennial High School as an Instructional ParaProfessional with DCD(Delayed Cognitive Development) kids. I also work as a PCA (personal care assistant) and have one client. My husband works for MNDoT. My son will be in the 6th grade this fall. I have been a den leader with Cub Scouts for almost 5 years now. Recently, my son and 5 other scouts received their Arrow of Light and became Boy Scouts along with 2 of my other WEBELOS. I plan on being an active member of our boy scout troop. I am looking forward to all the adventures to come! This Spring will find us celebrating alot with our family (out of town) at a 50th Surprise Birthday Party, 2 weddings, and a Spring Break vacation get-away! (The Birthday Party was a complete surprise! The wedding in Crookston, MN was wonderful. The wedding in Los Angeles, CA was fun and beautiful. Our Spring break vacation in Tucson, AZ was great and over to soon!) This summer will be busy with scouts and camping, Graduation Open Houses, and maybe a few unexpected adventures! YOU MAKE THE CALL: Folgers or Starbucks? Neither. I love the smell of coffee but do not like to drink it! Letterman or Leno? I watch both. But, no one can replace Johnny Carson. Book or Movie? I would like to read the book first, but usually end up seeing the movie first. Save or Charge? I used to be a saver, then a charger. Now, I'm going back to being a saver. To clip coupons or not? Definetly use coupons! Stones or Beatles? I listen to both. Hope or Pray? I hope too much and definet...Expand for more
ly should pray more. I'm trying to change. Permission or Forgiveness? I don't think you can have one without the other, we need both. Dark Chocolate or Milk Chocolate? Milk Chocolate(with caramel)!! Coke or Pepsi? Pepsi Drama or Comedy? Comedy Action, Romance, or Sci-Fi? All How do you hope your friends remember you? As a quiet, but likeable person. How do you remember YOURSELF? Someone who was very shy and had absolutely no self confidence. Someone who really wanted to fit in but didn't know how to and didn't think that she was good enough. I really didn't have a clue. How do you feel about a class reunion? I missed the 30th reunion. Maybe we dont have to wait another 10 years before we get together again! I ALWAYS WANTED TO BE A TRAVEL AGENT WHEN I GREW UP! My parents were conviced it was too hard to make a living at it. We had huge arguements over this. Turns out that they were probably right. But it would have been way more exciting than being an accountant!!! MY DREAM HOME WOULD....Be near a body of water(so we can swim, boat, ski, fish, play in and on it!) with some land and trees where our neighbors are close enough to enjoy having them, but far enough away for some privacy! I would like a nice size kitchen and a fireplace too. It's not asking for much is it!!!! HaHa LOL My favorite way to relax? Take a shower or bath, water the flowers outside, or go to the lake. Anything to do with water seems to help me relax. I also like to listen to music, read, or listen to audio tapes to relax. IF I WON THE LOTTERY, I WOULD....GIVE SOME TO OUR FAMILIES, GIVE SOME TO MY FAVORITE CHARITIES, PAY OFF BILLS, SET MONEY ASIDE FOR CHRIS, INVEST SOME, BUY A DREAM HOME(OR 2!!) AND DEFINETLY TRAVEL!!!!!!!! (not necessarily in that order!) What are my obsessions? I like to watch the MN Twins whenever I can. I am also hooked on Dancing with the Stars! If I had one do-over I would be more active and outgoing in school (not so insecure and clueless!) I missed out on alot of fun and exciting times! What's the wildest thing you ever did in school? Back THEN we thought it was wild. NOW we would think of it as just stupid. That's all I can say about that, because we swore we would never tell!!! :)
