Robin's Story

I was the shy, quiet one who lived on Hwy 74. After high school I went to college for a year, then quit, I married Damon Paulson, that lasted almost 5 years. I then went back to college. I have never remarried. No children. I eventually received a master's degree in psychology. In March 2009 I received by marriage family therapist license. For the last 22 years I have worked at Oak Grove Center in Murrieta. It is a residential treatment center for children and teens who have been abused, have mental illnesses, developmental delays and other problems with their families. I was the assistant program coordinator on the dorm with the younger children/teens. Since Nov 2010 I switched to the noc/ graveyard shift. I received a second master degree's in mental health administration. I am still at Oak Grove however I am a therapist at Sigil Social Foundation in Temecula. I am the clinical director and I supervise interns. I am assisting with developing the agency. I still live in Lake Elsinore, even tho my PO Box is in Wildomar. I always wanted to be a therapist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a not a good idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. To blow off steam, I read, write, watch TV or go to the movies, meet with friends and play board games, use to go dancing. I like Reading, watching movies, walking, sleeping, being silly with friends. My ...Expand for more
obsessions: Gardens of time on the computer. Facebook to see what my family is up to. Reality TV such as "America's got talent", "the sing off", "the biggest loser" "The apprentice" and "the voice" Big Victory being recognized by the state house and assembly for my work in the mental health field. Having an article published in a social worker newsletter. Several employees of the week and month and two for team player of the year from work. All my college degrees. I always wanted to be a therapist when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to all my nieces and nephews for school, then spend the rest on me to pay off my student loans, travel and buy a house. My best friend would tell you I'm loyal, understanding, and helpful, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as stand offish. I still wear jeans and t-shirts, the occasional dress. I share my home with a male roommate who is an ex-boyfriend, which I find that it works out great for now. In 10 years, I hope to be financial stable. I'm going to get there by working hard, not spending money that I don't have and getting out of debt. My oldest friend is actually six months younger than I. Our parents were friends, so I knew her when she was six months old and we are still friends.
