Robin's Story
Hi all you Kearns High Cougars!
I made it to the 30 year reunion but did not see a lot of you there. I live in CA and made it, what happened to you? I do know that a lot of people did not hear about it so I do understand. We all seem to have very busy lives. I'll tell you a little about what I have been up to.
I married my high school sweetheart Russ Facer and moved to California. We have been here for 21 years. I have two teenage boys. Chris is 17 and Conner is 16. (They think they are 24 and 25!) I do have to say that they are the loves of my life. I worked at Hoag Hospital on the nursing staff before I had children. This hospital is on the beach in Newport Beach and I loved every minute I was there, but when the boys came along I knew we had to move to a slower paced life style. We moved to Murrieta CA in 94 and have been here to this day. I was very blessed to represent our state as Mrs. California in 2004. Who would have ever thought that was going to happen? when she was in the Miss Universe Pageant in 1957. That was a real thrill for me. I am a breast cancer surviver and I do motivational speaking to all kinds of groups. I teach the third graders in our city with special needs and often wonder if I don't learn from them just as they learn from me. I LOVE MY JOB! I have written two children's books and am in the process of getting them published. I also have a recipe book that is almost finished. This I did for my boys and it holds recipes with 5 ingredients or less. (For when they move away from home.) I think I already have empty nester going on. I am active in my church as I am the sunbeam teacher and our Ward Camp Director. I have 30 girls to get to camp this year so I have been very busy with that as camp is in just a few weeks. Oh I can't wait. Well.... may be I can.
