Robyn's Story
Life
After leaving Notre Dame, I moved to Pennsylvania to pursue a degree in engineering at Lafayette College. When I got to Lafayette, I also had a boyfriend (supposedly the love of my life!) who really put a crimp in my academic course of study. I ended up transferring to Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I'm so glad I did! The experience on a black college campus is great. e my mark on the world. I also finished Southern with a husband and a daughter! After seven years of toiling at Blue Cross of Louisiana and divorcing my husband, I relocated back to the DC area to teach mathematics in the public school system. While attending an alumni dance, I met my current husband, a Louisiana native. He promptly brought me right back to Louisiana! We've been here 17 years now and I'm still teaching mathematics. I still have one daughter, but she has three sons! Marcus, Jordan and Tyler are the new loves of my life.
