Robyn's Story
Here are 30 years in a nutshell:
U of Wyo after high school, only I decided I wanted to do something else after I got there.
Enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1979 and spent a few years on patrol boats in S. Florida, - law enforcement and search and rescue.
Grabbed classes along the way, and in 1990 was commissioned an Ensign in the Coast Guard.
Spent the next 12 years working in port security, search and rescue, maritime casualty investigations, and marine inspections. Retired in 2002 as a Lieutenant Comm...Expand for more
ander. Would have stayed as long as the law allowed, but I had two reasons for departing-- my (then) 4-year old twins Eric and Katherine.
Moved me, Eric and Katherine to Kansas in 2003. We live just outside a modest town with a university. I counsel students on majors/careers. Don't see any reason to retire anytime soon.
Eric is in the "family business", having enlisted in the Army after high school, and Katherine is a junior in college. I'm blessed that both are professing Christians and good people..
