Rod's Story
My wife Linda and I, married for 32 years, have lived in Springfield, Tulsa, Santa Fe, and Marina del Rey, a suburb of Los Angeles. Note that westward trend. After living for more than 20 years in southern California, in 2010 we moved back to New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment, where we now live in Eldorado, a community just outside of Santa Fe.
I have set myself the goal in my old age of publishing a new book every two years. And, writing as Hyatt Carter, so far I am right on schedule:
2012:
Let There Be . . . Chi!
Chiasmic Structures in Thought and Reality
2010:
Some Little Night Musings:
137 HyC Adventures
2008:
Thinking Is the Best Way to Travel:
Essays Along the Journey

mference of the Earth. There are many trails in the mountains around Santa Fe and we have hiked virtually every mountain trail within fifty miles of the city.
From early on I realized that I enjoy both Eastern and Western longings and, if I have developed any expertise over the years, it is in my understanding of process philosophy as developed by Alfred North Whitehead, and Zen Buddhism with an emphasis on the life and work of Eihei Dogen, the 13th-century Zen Master who founded Soto Zen in Japan. A book yet to be written would explore Buddhism and Christianity, East and West, as now facing each other not with only one possibility of mutual exclusion but, rather, with many great possibilities of mutual transformation.
