Rod's Story
Hi old friends!
I have wondered about many of you over the years just as you have probably wondered about me. For the most part, I have remained in California for all these years. Brad moved to Indiana in the 80's. We are both doing well.
Let me tell you a short version of my story.
After high school I went off to Fresno State for a few years and ended up after that at Sac State where I graduated in 1975 with a degree in Business Administration.
During my last year at CSU Sac, I met Lori (from Merced) and we moved to South Lake Tahoe after school. We were married in 1976 at my Mom's house in Fresno. We only lived in SLT a few years before moving back to Sac for work reasons. We almost moved to Australia at that time (Lori has many family members there.)
The company I worked for went out of business in 1978 and I went into the construction field. I have been a contractor since 1979 and have built just about anything and everything from residential to comm...Expand for more
ercial projects. I have built in Tuolumne County where I live now to Sacramento, Los Banos, Dixon, Davis, all over the LA area, Las Vegas and Clearwater Florida. I know I have forgotten some. I first went into construction because I wanted to build solar homes and that is exactly what I do today. I actually run the company and only occasionally go out and do the hard work. Heck, I'm 56 years old.
I haven't been building for the entire time as we joined staff for the church we belong to in 1998. We were on staff for 8 years and moved back to Tuolumne County in 2006. We just finished building what I hope is our final house. At least if my body says so, it will be our final house. Of course it is all solar.
We have two fine handsom sons who are both married and in their late twenties. Actually, our oldest just turned 30. Wow! do I feel old. We have two beautiful grand kids and have been married for 33 years.
