Life
. . . Left Bellevue for UCLA after graduation in 1966 . . . . transferred to UC Berkeley in 1968, and graduated in 1970. . . . Went to Hastings Law School in San Francisco and graduated in 1973 . . . . . Was appointed to the bench by Governor Pete Wilson in 1996, and have been a judge ever since. Now sitting as a Superior Court Judge in Oakland.
On the personal-life side, got married in 1970 . . . . raised four kids, one of whom died in 2000 of cystic fibrosis. Divorced in 2003.
