Rod's Story
Update - 2015: I retired from Princeton last year, and started volunteering for the Red Cross. I also founded a small supply chain management consulting firm - Muleshoe Consultants LLC. I currently have one client - Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory. Being too antsy to fully retire, I recently went back to work at the National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center (NBACC), located at Ft. Detrick, MD. I stay in Maryland during the week and come back to NJ on the weekends.
My wife Michelle still works for Princeton as a programmer/analyst and consults with Seton Hall University and Franklin & Marshall College. My oldest son John lives and works in NYC as a investigative data journalist for BuzzFeed. He is getting married in October to a girl from Hollidaysburg, Laura Schocker. They met in grad school at Northwestern University. Laura is an executive editor with RealSimple.com. The wedding will be in NYC. My second son Matt lives in Seattle and works for KPMG as an IT systems consultant. Daughter Megan is a CPA and a Senior Internal Auditor with SC Johnson Company in Racine, WI. This Fall, my youngest son An...Expand for more
drew will be attending Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS in their Masters in Public Health program.

I live in Pennington, New Jersey, about 5 miles from the Delaware River and about 8 miles from Princeton. Until 2014, I worked at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. PPPL is operated by Princeton University as a federally funded R&D center engaged in fusion research for the US Department of Energy. From 1994 to 2014, I headed the Lab's Procurement Division.
I graduated from Lycoming College in 1974 with a BA in psychology. I received my MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, in 1982.
My dad passed away in 1999.
Right now, my primary hobby is cycling.
My fondest memories of H-Burg are of those long rides to football games on the band bus and working on the plays, like "Lilies of the Field" and "The Mouse that Roared." Oh...and playing football and chess at Alex's house. And of course, Afterglow at Lakemont...
