Rodney's Story
Life
"79" RULES! I have now retired from a 21yr career in the Navy. I've been around the world and back a couple of times. I married in '83, divorced in '98. I have 4 kids; 3 boys and a girl and took in my nephew (14 at the time)in '99. The oldest graduated "00" and is in the Air Force, the rest are growing away quickly.
*UPDATE 1* Got married again in 2002. Moved back to Michigan for the first time in 24 years. Got a new (old - 1867) house in Webberville. Settling in to life again. Became a grandpa, 2004. Went to the 25yr reunion, 2004. It was great to see everyone. Sorry for those who missed it.
*UPDATE 2* 5yrs after the 25th reunion and doing well. Still in love with my wife and home. Gained another grandson and have now picked up 2 stepgrands too, a boy and a girl.

Workplace
Since my retirement (change of career's) from the Navy, I've worked at a hospital (brain surgery) in WI, a coal-fired power plant in ...Expand for more
WI, a trash-burning power plant in MI, and a Sanitation Authority in MI. Currently working for Waste Management (Think Green!) as the Landfill Gas Operations Manager for the Michigan Market Area and SW Ontario.
Military
I joined the Navy delayed entry program on the buddy program with Bert Dean, but he baled on me (just kidding Bert). I tried to bale myself, but got shanghaied by some fast talk. Suddenly, I was in and on my way to Great Lakes, IL. It was the start of the best career anyone could ask for.
My duty stations included: Great Lakes, IL; Bremerton, WA; Guam; Little Creek, VA; Dam Neck, VA; Napoli, Italia; GLakes (again); Sasebo, Japan (Kyushu); San Diego, CA; Great Lakes (again) to retire.
I traveled to so many places while I was in that it would have cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to go there on my own.
I met many, many special people in the Navy. I couldn't have asked for better stand-ins for the friends I left behind at home.
