Roger's Story
Enjoying my 4th year in retirement after 44 years in the facilities maintenance field. After serving in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1971 and two tours in Vietnam plus the Apollo 14 recovery, returned home to District Heights. Two years later moved to Alexandria, VA.and went to work at the Smithsonian Institution where I eventually retired in 2012. riend Steve Bennett. While in my working years at the Smithsonian a co-worker introduced me to the hobby of home-brewing. That hobby lead me to an investment in Victory Brewing Company that now provides me with my second retirement. Here in Reading, I go bowling once a week with Steve Bennett and his wife Joy. Also joined the local Navy Club USA where I volunteered to be the ships writer. Still keep in touch with old classmates Winston Chow and Frank Sobolewski.
