Roger's Story
Life
I graduated from Lynn English School in 1965. I joined the Navy and spent four years in Viet Nam first aboard the USS Annapolis AGMR-1 and then aboard the Destroyer USS Floyd B. Parks (DD-214). I was honorably discharged in 1969 and returned to Lynn where I worked for Thom McCann shoe stores for about four years. My father retired from Thom McCann years ago,he worked in the store on Union Street. He was very likeable fella and well known. After Thom McCann I went to Northeastern University and got an Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy and worked in many hospitals from Union Hospital to Melrose Wakefield Hospital. I always had some sort of show business bug and enjoyed performing as a child with my neighbors putting on shows. I eventually moved to New York and studied dance for several years. I moved to Las Vegas Nevada in 1976 and perfomed in the "Lido De Paris" show at the Stardust Hotel & Casino for a number of years. ...Expand for more
I then opened my own show at the Silver Slipper right next door. The name of the show was called "Boy-Lesque, staring Kenny Kerr. Las Vegas had never seen a show like this and we worked there for many years until it was torn down several years ago. I have traveled all over the world looking for talent for Las Vegas. I have been to Cairo Egypt, Paris, Switzerland, Germany, Paris Austria, Belgim, Brussels even as far as Japan, Cihna, phillipines and Hong Kong. I am retired now. Somewhere along the way I married a girl from Lynn Mass and have two children and two grandkids. I am divorced and live in Las Vegas. Nevada This my home now but I do miss the New England area. I would love to retire to New Hampshire, however I don't know if I could take the winters. I vist my children about every two years and plan on another visit in October of 2008. I am single now and a christian. I would love to get married again if I found the right girl.
