Roger's Story
Right out of high school, after graduation, tried my hand at Culinary Arts, attended SMVTI, So. Portland for a short 3 months of a 2-yr course, got disinterested. Ray Vachon, class of 68, was my roommate. Almost immediately upon leaving SMVTI, joined the Navy. Went to school in Pensacola, FL, for Communications Technician, graduated, went to first duty station,Japan. o whom married since 1972. We married in Tokyo, and had three kids. Retired from the Navy in 1989, came back to Maine. Worked at numerous jobs here and there but mostly for L.L. Bean for 16 years and retired from them in 2006. While working I attended Univ. of Southern Maine and got my B.S. in Management & Organizational Studies, Magna Cum Laude, in 1995. I am now semi-retired and living a contented life in Mechanic Falls with my wife and an empty nest and enjoying our time with our grandchildren.
