1983 - BA Biology Carleton College
1984 - Moved to California, got married, started PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, Univ of California Irvine
1990 - MS Biology, Univ of California Irvine
Moved to Lafayette, Louisiana
Started PhD at University of Louisiana in Marine Biology
1994-2001 - Moved to Washington DC to work as environmental policy advisor, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Advised senior decision makers, helped write Presidential Executive Orders, had a great time....
1995 - divorced; started anew in Wash DC
1998 - married anew
2001-2007 - Managed NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Program helping conserve coral reefs in US and interna...Expand for more

2005 - serious car accident, rebuilt hip
2004 - My son Mateo Griffis born and life changed forever
2008-2010 - Senior policy advisor, NOAA Fisheries Service Office of Habitat Conservation
2010-present - Working as Climate Change Coordinator for NOAA Fisheries Service
2011 - Authored assessment of climate change impacts on US marine ecosystems for 2013 National Climate Assessment
Visited Taiwan for first time: Attended APEC workshop on impacts of extreme climate events on fisheries and aquaculture
Visited Korea for first time: Attended International Symposium on Climate Change impacts on global oceans at World Expo (Yeosu, Korea)
Realized I had been on the planet for half a century
Lost my Dad. Began a bucket list....
