Roger's Story

Where to start? After I graduated, I went to Long Island University. I enjoyed college as much as I would enjoy a root canal. I attended for 2 years when a business proposition was offered. My partner and I started a printing company in a little storefront in Queens. It was just the 2 of us ... he ran the machinery and I went out to find customers. I was pretty good at what I did and within 2 years we had over a dozen employees and had moved to our own building in Bay Shore, Long Island. I married, had five children and adopted a sixth. The years rolled by, the children grew up and, unfortunately, my wife and I grew apart. We finally ...Expand for more
made it formal and divorced. I now live in South Bridgeport, Connecticut, a block from the beach. Wild turkeys and deer wander down the street in the mornings and it's a pleasant life ... except retirement was really boring. Six months ago I decided to give selling at a flea market a try. It felt so good to be back to running a business again. As I kept expanding I was joined by my best friend and the business flourished. I enjoyed it so much that I began worrying about what I would do when the cold weather arrived. That became phase 2. I'm going to open an Ebay store in mid-October which hopefully will keep me busy all winter long.
