Roger's Story
I guess it's time to catch people up, on what I've been up to all these years.
After graduation I figured I had better beat the draft so I wouldn't be a grunt in Vietnam so I enlisted in the Air Force. Great choice I thought after basic and tech school I wound up in SAC, the one place no one wanted to be. It wasn't that bad however, I was stationed at McCoy AFB in Orlando. It was kinda the country club of SAC. All we had to do was fight the Cold War and go bomb Vietnam and Cambodia for six months every two years. I don't think the ground pounders ever saw or heard us but the sure felt the ground shake.
When I got out of the service I went to school. A small private college in Nashville, Tennessee called Trevecca Nazarene University. I dated a girl who attended Hillsborough High School while at Chamberlain. She had also gone to Trevecca. She had already graduated, we renewed our friendship during homecoming, and married April 10th of 1971. Nancy was teaching school in Flowery Branch, Georgia at the time. When the school year ended we moved to Orlando.

e a police officer for the Orlando Police Department working into the position of Evidence Technician. After leaving law enforcement I became a district manager with Pinkerton Security and Investigations. From there I went into transportation and worked as division manager for GrayLine of Orlando, establishing and heading up the Paratransit Division.
On March the 29th of 1997 while doing some work at home, I was on a step ladder. The ladder started to move. A moment of insanity struck so I jumped from the ladder. I had a nice clean jump, beautiful form, but lousy landing technique. When I hit the ground my right leg expolded just above my right ankle. I lost two inches of bone mass. After the trauma surgery I went to see my assigned orthopeadic surgeon, his solution was apputaton. That wasn't my solution. To make a long story short after seven years and ten surgeries I still have my foot.
My last job was as a special investigator under contract to the U.S. Office of Personnel Managment.
I have one son living and three granddaughters. I have one deceased son, who died as a result of a drowning accident.
